چکیده
Hydrolysis of the lignocellulosic biomass results in release high-value chemicals that during industrial processing can be recovered with membrane technologies. To maintain an effective performance membranes used technological biomass, their regular cleaning is essential. Although several guidelines may found for cases organic fouling, data fouled by hydrolyzed limited. Current research aimed to evaluate physical (air backpulse) and common cheap chemical methods. The showed air backpulse alone had a minor (9%) effect on cleaning. alternation NaOH (1 %) solution NaClO (200 mg/L Free chlorine) was most approach effectiveness 95.1 % 50 nm 89 200 membrane, indicating filtration effectively cleaned using affordable accessible chemicals.

متن کاملControlling biofilm growth using reactive ceramic ultrafiltration membranes
Fouling due to biofilms composed primarily of microorganisms and extracellular polymeric substances is a significant hindrance to membrane filtration in water treatment. The goal of this work was to use a reactive membrane surface to reduce membrane biofouling by coating a ceramic ultrafiltration membrane with the nanoparticulate photocatalyst, TiO2. 10-Day biofilm growth experiments were condu...
متن کاملGlycerin Removal from Ultrafiltration Flat Sheet Membranes by Filtration and Soaking
comIn the case of pharmaceutical processes, the presence of preservatives can be problematic and the quantity is subject to stringent standards. So, the aim of this study is to quantify the removal of glycerin contained in ultrafiltration flat sheet membranes by filtration and soaking. This is carried out over a wide range of membranes with different characteristics. The selected flat sheet mem...
متن کاملStudy of Separation and Fouling of Reverse Osmosis Membranes during Model Hydrolysate Solution Filtration
Prehydrolysate, a dilute solution consisting mainly of pentoses, hexoses, and lesser quantities of organic acids, furfural and phenolics, is generated in the Kraft dissolving pulp process. An obstacle facing the valorization of the solution in hemicellulose biorefineries, by conversion of the sugars into bioproducts such as furfural, is the low sugar concentration. Membrane filtration is typica...
متن کاملFouling and rejection behavior of ceramic and polymer-modified ceramic membranes for ultrafiltration of oil-in-water emulsions and microemulsions
The effectiveness of poly(vinylpyrrolidone) (PVP)-modification of a zirconia-based ultrafiltration membrane was investigated for the treatment of oil-in-water (o/w) emulsions. Fouling, hydraulic permeability, flux decline, and solute rejection for modified and native membranes were evaluated using a diagnostic o/w emulsion as well as an emulsion prepared using a commercial cutting oil. The nati...
